NEP The Netherlands acquires Stoneroos
Hilversum, 3 May 2021NEP The Netherlands (NEP) has announced today that they’ve reached agreement on the acquisition of Stoneroos. The transaction, where 100 % of the shares are transferred to NEP, is completed on May 3rd. With this acquisition, Stoneroos has become part of NEP immediately.
Stoneroos, founded by Annelies Kaptein in 2001, Stoneroos, is a small technology firm in the Netherlands that offers interactive TV applications (OTTNOW!) and content discovery services that improve clients’ television experience through comprehensive metadata and enriched content (epgdata.tv). Stoneroos employs 18 experienced developers and designers, that innovate continuously and work on the most various projects.
Ralf van Vegten, Managing Director NEP The Netherlands: “We’re very happy to add Stoneroos to our portfolio. With this acquisition, we can strengthen our OTT proposition even more, and we can also extend our team of developers. We therefore can continue to grow our business, build on a strong(er) team and also pursue our international ambitions. In our business it’s about our people and we’re very happy with all of the talented people that Stoneroos brings along. We’re looking forward to welcome our new colleagues and build further on our organisation to serve our clients in the best way possible.”
Annelies Kaptein, founder Stoneroos: “From the start in 2001, we experienced many changes in the market and I’m very proud of what we’ve built together in all of these years. We’re now ready for our next move. We want to add our expertise, our people, our IT products (OTTNOW!) and EPG data and our clients to the services of NEP and strengthen our position in the market. We’ve also got plans to extend our IT services and offer new digital TV and video services to NEP and their customers.
In the coming period, Stoneroos will remain operating and communicating under their own name, and will proceed under the name of NEP Media Solutions at a timing that needs to be determined. The name Stoneroos and accompanying brand identity will disappear.
